How to keep your Summer glow from head to toe

  1. Use Rosehip and Oils, religiously

The beauty buzz on Rose Hip is that it’s now being called the “new coconut oil”, but the truth is there’s nothing new about it. In fact, Rosehip oil has been used for centuries by the ancient Egyptians, Mayans and Native Americans for healing and skin care. Rosehip oil is full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that brighten skin, correcting dark spots, hydrate dry skin, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. If you’re looking to keep your summer glow, Rose hip oil is a must for your beauty bag.

2. Protect your Skin with Sunscreen

It may seem counterintuitive to protect your skin from the sun if you’re trying to keep your tan, but the best way to have glowing skin is to keep it as soft and protected as possible. Leaving your skin unprotected in the sun or outdoors can cause you to sunburn, which won’t last as long as a gradual tan. Plus, sun exposure causes wrinkles and discoloration over time, so your best bet for getting that long term summer glow from head to toe is by keeping your sun nourished and protected.

Just because the sun out less come fall and winter, doesn’t mean your skin can’t be bright. Using a natural, high-quality self-tanner is the key to keeping a nice summer glower all winter long. Begin to apply self-tanners using a convenient night time tanner while you sleep, and wake up glowing!

Hands down, the best and only way for you to have healthy skin is to stay nourished and moisturized. Your diet and water intake affect how moisturized your skin is, but topical application of good moisturizers and body lotions can make all the difference. Use a lotion and moisturizers with natural ingredients, and that is formulated to be extra nourishing. Try to keep your lotion and creme handy, making it something you habitually apply. Applying after the shower is also a great trick, as your pores are open.

5. Keep your hair nourished

To keep your Summer glow from head to toe, you can’t forget about your lovely locks. After a long summer in the sun at beaches, in chlorinated pools and at festivals with your hair exposed, your strands can be left dull and faded. The best way to keep your hair healthy after a Summer of fun in the sun starts in the shower. Use a healthy gentle Shampoo, one that won’t strip your hair of its natural oils but that will protect your strands (and color if you need it) and will even add oils and vitamins back into your scalp. Use a moisturizing conditioner, and a moisturizing mask 3-5 times per week. If you can get away with it, try to go a few days during the week without applying heat products to your hair, and rock a hat with your outfit on the days you’re in the sun.
