Attention to all you ladies in the world… we all have different body types! And what’s better, they’re all beautiful. This generation is finally starting to break away from the stereotypes of what a “perfect” body is, but the truth is, variation in body types is a fact of life, and it’s a pretty fun fact to explore one you learn to love and embrace it. There are many brands out there that seem to confine themselves to a “one size fits all” kind of a style, but there are different clothes, bikinis and even sunglass styles that are made to fit the shape of YOU! Whatever your beautiful body type, find the suit that best, well, suits you and rock it all summer long! Don’t know where to start? Here’s how:
- Identify your body shape
Once again, no two bodies are alike. But there have been identified 4 classifications of body types. These are banana, apple, pear, and hourglass. To be honest, these body types can be a bit confusing, and when you’re in the dressing room, you’re not really asking yourself what body type you are as related to a fruit. You’re asking yourself if if you look good or not! For the most common body types, here are some tips to help you find the best suit style for you.
Athletic body: Do you have fewer curves, but are more toned muscular? Try these bikini styles out:
- Tapered back bottoms
- Triangle tops with a bit of a push or padding
- Tie side bikini bottoms
Curvy Body: Big bust? Thighs? Flaunt your curves while still keeping it classy and getting the bust support you need. Try these bikini styles out:
- Adjustable straps, such as a cross back in my picture
- Tops with underwire
- Solid colors
Pear Shape: If you have a smaller bust, but a proud beach bum, then you could probably go for one of these styles:
- High neck top
- Plunging neckline top
- Tieless bottoms
2. Get the perfect suit
My perfect bikini is this one by LSpace Swim & Everything But Water. It’s adjustable in the back helps get rid of any underboob worries and allows me to loosen or tighten it until it’s comfortable.
3. Be Happy
Regardless of if you find a suit that is designed for the body type you are classified in, at the end of the day, it’s all about feeling your best, looking good and being happy no matter what.
