- Use a straw
A simple tip that can make a world of difference is by using a straw. Whether it is coffee, alcohol or juice, your skin will react to the chemicals and acidity in the drinks that can result in drying skin. A quick fix is by sticking a straw into any drink your enjoying, it’ll save your lips from unnecessary harm and keep your lipstick off the glass and on your lips.
2. Moisturize overnight
Use products with soothing, moisturizing ingredients such as Shea butter and Vitamin E and avoid products that have petroleum and castor oil in them which tend to dry your lips. Applying a lip balm overnight ensures that you have 8 hours or so of uninterrupted moisture where you won’t be eating, drinking, wiping or licking your lips and you’re sure to wake up with lips that are soft, plump and moisturized.
3. Keep lip balm everywhere
One of the best tricks to keeping beautiful lips is to always have something on them. Because your lips do not have pores, they don’t generate their own oils, and exposure to the elements can cause them to be chapped easily. Keeping lip balm in your purse, car, by your bedside, and in your makeup bag, even in your office desk at work can help ensure that your lips don’t go neglected just because you can’t find your lip balm.
4. Exfoliate
Our lips have a tendency to become dry easily, thanks to all the exposure to the weather, drinking, and licking our lips that goes on throughout the day. This dryness can create flaky skin that is sometimes obvious, and sometimes small and more difficult to be seen. Exfoliating every few days ensures that your lips stay smooth and soft and not dull from old skin.
