2020 has definitely been an unprecedented year. If you paid attention you probably have learned some tough lessons, started appreciating the small things in life and became a little more frugal and self reliant.
We’ve definitely all had to fend for ourselves when the nail & hair salons shut down and let’s face it boo, we all looked a little ratchet. Our roots grew out halfway down our head, we were all drastically struggling to take off our gels and acrylic nails without completely destroying what was left of our natural nails. Some opted for just letting the fake nails grow until they could just cut them off and others picked and pulled at them until their natural nails were paper thin.
I quickly realized I needed to learn to do my own nails because no one knew how long quarantine was. So my first step was to get my nails healthy again. So I left my nails bare and used Sally Hansen Nail Care products to strengthen my nails. Click HERE to see my Amazon Nail Must Have List for all my favorite nail care items.
Once my nails were healthy I decided to try nail polish wraps and press-on nails and let me tell you….I don’t know why I didn’t try this sooner. If I want to have beautiful long nails for a few days or even a couple weeks I just use press-on nails. If I want more of a natural look I just use regular nail polish (there are so many great options now even for organic polish.) It’s so easy and looks so great.
Press-on nails are not what they used to be and frankly, I found this really great brand that looks amazing! I recently bought 3 sets from them: a coffin shape, a shorter length set, and one that I can paint myself which I love because I can still use all the nail polish colors I love! They normally run about $16 which is super affordable and looks amazing!
Another nail option is nail polish strips and my favorite brand (I’ve tried quite a few) is ColorStreet. They last the longest, my nails actually feel healthier when I remove them and you can use nail polish remover as you would if you had painted your nails. This is another great option that takes the skill or guesswork out of having a great manicure. If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve definitely seen me post about them.
I hope you definitely try out nail polish strips or the press-on nails because it’s truly so simple and easy to have a great manicure without ever walking into a salon.
xoxo, Andreea
