This year and last have truly morphed into the years of loungewear, so it only seemed fitting as we move into colder weather to share my picks of loungewear for fall! During Chicago summers, my loungewear consists of biker shorts (these being one of my favorites) and oversized t-shirts. And the occasional oversized cardigan while I’m in the house with AC. But now that we’re getting closer to cooler weather, I’m excited to get back to layering!! Today I am breaking down all the best loungewear essentials for fall; hope you love them as much as I do.
Fall Loungewear for Any Occasion
As Comfy as Loungewear
Need to go into work or go out to dinner with friends? You can incorporate oversized sweaters, cable knit sets, or vests into your outfit that keep you comfy and cute. I love that it’s become socially acceptable to wear loungewear outside of the house, at least some of it, and man, do I take advantage of it! This new mama doesn’t love wearing jeans currently (or ever ??). When I can find an outfit that is comfortable, work-friendly and looks cute, you can count me in.
Casual Coffee Runs
The running-out-the-door loungewear includes joggers, leggings, sweatshirts and comfy tops. They’re not exactly pajamas because you can wear them in public and still feel cute, but they’re not as uncomfortable as jeans and a blouse. I love to throw on a matching workout set and a zip up sweatshirt or hoodie. I usually pair this with some sneakers and a baseball hat if my hair isn’t cooperating.
In for the Night
When I’ve cocooned myself in for the night or, let’s be real, decided I’m staying in sweats from morning ’til night (which I fully endorse 😂), I usually put on some baggy sweatpants and an oversized cardigan or fuzzy robe (still need easy access to the boob for breastfeeding).
At this point I’m seriously wondering what we ever saw in heels, suiting and the general uncomfiness of “normal” office / life attire. Also, If you’re a new mama, make sure to check out my blog about transitional clothing for the all trimesters and beyond!
