A change in the seasons is my excuse to change up my closet and my home decor! I try to be very intentional when decorating, so I don’t necessarily go ham on a specific holiday or theme – aka Halloween. With that being said, I still incorporate small changes that transform my home for Fall. The cool, crisp air and colorful leaves beg for cozy nights in. With the amount of time we’re spending at home, it can be fun to switch things up for a bit. I’ve compiled my favorite ways to incorporate the Fall season without going overboard (and spending all the money $$$). Share your ideas in the comments below!
Easy Ways to Spruce Up Your Home For Fall
Style your Mantel
When I think of Fall, I think of cool days with cozy nights in and the fireplace on. That’s why I enjoy decorating my mantel for the season. When you focus on styling one place, it can have a larger impact on the space. I like to do this versus placing random small objects throughout the house. The mantel is where I like to place fun seasonal decor, like pumpkins or dried florals. I also like to add some height by using a mirror or large painting as a backdrop. Then I’ll add interest with vases or candles.
Add Warmth
As soon as the air goes crisp, I like to add warmer tones to my home for fall. I also like to literally add warmth by changing up my pillows and throws. Plaid patterns and faux fur are my go-to textiles for the season. I try to stay classic with my choices so I can use them year after year!
Sprinkle in Texture
I like to add texture throughout the house because it adds interest. To balance the cozy plush pieces, I incorporate woven materials, like rattan trays or pumpkins, and dried wreaths and florals. Mix the hard and soft.
Spice it Up
On a steep budget? Spend it on aromas. Candles are a fantastic way to get in the fall mood without spending a fortune on redoing your whole place. I like to opt for high quality candles because they burn for longer and tend to be better for the environment. I love spicy, masculine scents instead of the sweet pumpkin ones, so that’s what I linked below. The smell feels more natural throughout my home and doesn’t give me a headache! Plus these scents tend to be harder to find.
Stock Your Pantry
