Fall in Chicago is here. I thought I’d be sad to see summer end, but the minute I felt the crisp air, I immediately wanted to start cozying up in all the layers. Fall is my favorite season for fashion and I definitely don’t think I’m alone in that opinion. I love it all, the sweaters, the boots, the outerwear, and all of the layering! For now, I’ve gathered some of the best knit sweaters (and vests) under $150.
I love knit sweaters because they are so versatile to style while remaining comfortable. Pair with bootcut or relaxed jeans for the quintessential fall look, trousers for a more polished (& ~uber~ trendy) vibe, or add knit pants for a matching moment. This season’s trend seems to be preppy, yet comfortable. It’s truly the perfect balance of feeling polished and laidback because the textures and textiles are so soft and comfortable but the details are refined.
This year there are so many sweater trends to choose from including, chunky to cropped to long, so it’s easy to choose one that fits your style! Here are some trends that I love:
- Sweater Vests: These bad boys are the perfect sweater for keeping warm and comfortable through transitional months.
- Collared Sweaters: AKA the polo sweater, collared sweaters create a more polished vibe out of something oversized.
- Cable Knit Sweaters: A classic and preppy staple, a cable knit feels very timeless in the sweater world.
- Half-zip Sweaters: This type comes in many styles (many shown on the runway!) so you can wear them when relaxing around the house, heading to the gym, or taking your pup for a walk!
