The Heidelberg Castle is a beautiful site and landmark in Germany with ruins that give you a taste of the rich history. The ancient buildings remind you that you’re in a place that was amongst the most significant structures of the Renaissance. 5. Visit the Alte Oper
The Alte Oper (Old Opera) is an elaborately designed concert hall located in the inner city district, Innenstadt, within the banking district of Bankenviertel. The Alte Oper has been a location for ground breaking performances and cultural expression for centuries. The house was originally built in the 1880s, yet was destroyed in WW2, but has been reopened since in 1981. The platz in front of the building, known as Opernplatz (meaning Opera Square) boasts a beautiful fountain that adds to the eccentric and elaborate style that carries in through the doors and into the hall itself.
