I can say pretty confidently that becoming a mom has forced me to get ready really quickly. It’s a science; a talent, really. I’m sure other moms will agree with me! If you haven’t gotten a speedy hair care routine down, or are wanting some additional tips, keep reading! I’ve compiled my Holy Grail products and tips so you don’t have to forgo soft, shiny hair while taking care of your little one.
The “Got Zero Time” Hair Routine
Dry shampoo is my everything when it comes to this hair care routine. I spray a bit on the roots every night. I add a little bit of hair serum to the ends (a tiny amount goes a long way!). Then, I brush my hair up into a neat bun, using silk scrunchies for minimal breakage. My favorite brush is my Raincry. Kristin Ess also has a great lower price point brush that works great. In the morning, my hair looks nice and fresh with a natural wave.
During the day my hair is usually in a messy low bun because Alina is in a hair pulling phase. Sometimes, if I am brave, I’ll wear it half up with a little messy bun on the crown of my head.
The “Running Out Of The House” Routine
If I just jumped out of the shower and my hair is wet:
To get a quick blowout, I use my Drybar Double Shot or Revlon Blow Dry Brush. The only difference between the two, in my opinion, is the price. Either product is a great way to blow dry and style your hair at once. Before blow drying, I add some Kristin Ess Blow Dry Mist which helps to cut down dry time as well. Oh, and don’t forget heat protectant!
Here is one of my IGTV’s on how to get a salon blowout look in minutes:

If my hair is clean & dry:
If my hair is already dry, I’ll quickly run through it with my GHD extra wide hair straightener (if it’s clean enough to look good, lol). When I do this, I use the Ouai texturing spray toward my ends and a little bit of their volume spray at the roots.
If I’m on 3rd or 4th day hair:
When my hair just isn’t cooperating or I’m going on 3 or 4 days without a full wash (which let’s be honest, happens more often than not), I’ll spray some of Kristen Ess’s Signature Hair Water to freshen up my locks. It smells awesome and feels like washing your hair without stepping in a shower. You can also use the Hair Water to help slick back your hair for a sleek bun or pony!
I have also been trying to utilize more pulled back hairstyles like voluminous braids, messy buns, and sleek low pony’s to cut my getting ready time down. Focus on throwing in a chic accessory instead of spending an hour perfecting your hair. You can also never go wrong with a claw clip updo or a ball cap.
The “Finally Have A Date Night” Routine
Before Alina, I used to love curling my hair with my t3 curler wand with interchangeable heads (I have them all). Now, I don’t have enough time to do that, except for a date with Bryan (sometimes…). I just got hot rollers, so I’m going to try those and see if they cut down any time for me! I’ve also heard good things about the heatless waves that went viral on TikTok.
