Keeping a clean and bright complexion can be much more complicated than we’d like it to be. Genetics, diet, exposure, and product all play a role in the overall health of our skin. Everyone has pores on their face, they are essential and integral part of skin. However, not all pores are the same size. Although you wouldn’t be able to get rid if your pores, nor should you even try, you can do certain things to make them appear smaller. Real simple reminds us that the belief that you can make your pores smaller is actually a “fantasy”, but the overall goal is to achieve a clear complexion, and that can be achieved with a few simple tricks. The benefits of having smaller pores can be beneficial for both the health and appearance of your skin, but the bad rep large pores have been given is a bit unfair. A smoother looking complexion is achieved by keeping your skin as free of dirt, germs and unwanted grime as possible. can lead to overexposure of dirt, leading to unwanted blackheads and breakouts. One of the best ways to prevent this from happening is to take zinc and magnesium. According to WebMD, this can keep your skin’s oil balanced and also clear the pores, keeping them clean and to appear smaller.
Step 1: Cleanse
Keeping your face clean, and clear is the key yo bright complexions and healthy pores. Use a gentle foaming cleanser daily in the morning. When your face is exposed to hot water, such as in the shower, your pores open more. This is a great time to cleanse.
Step 2: Tone
Even after cleansing, some unseen dirt can sneak into your pores, it’s the small and difficult to see ones you’ve got to be wary of. Use a toner with a cotton ball on the surface of your skin until you no longer see dirt on the cotton ball.
Step 3: Prime
Use a noncomedogenic primer before your makeup, this way the makeup doesn’t clog your pores.
Step 4: Moisturize
Use a moisturizer, once again, one that is noncomedogenic, typically oil-free, and light.
Step 5: Apply makeup
If it’s a makeup kind of day, apply your makeup last. Be sure to choose a makeup that is oil-free and matches your skin type so your pores do not get clogged or your skin irritated.
Step 6: Use skin masks
Egg white skin masks and charcoal skin masks are well renowned for clearing out pores. The compounds in the charcoal and egg whites actually suck the dirt and oil from your pores, drying it out and leaving your skin clear. Be careful to not use a strong mask more than 3 times per week, because your skin can dry out become red and irritated, stripping your skin of its natural oils.
