Traveling can severely affect my skin. Every time I’m on the road, I always breakout more and have to deal with dry skin. Normally, I have combination skin with oily spots around my nose and chin so the products I would normally use at home won’t work when I travel.
My forehead and chin get super dry and I tend to break out more when I travel. So I set out to try different products and see what combination of products work for me when I’m not home.
The last three times I’ve traveled these products have worked great for me and as this European trip is coming to a close today, I am so happy with the products and what they have done for my skin that I wanted to do a post and tell you about them.
Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream: its a great night: This is a great cream for day and night use. I try not to carry a bunch of stuff with me and this works great anytime of the day.
bareMinerals Original Powder Foundation (light): I have been using this for so many years! I truly believe it helped me through my awkward puberty ski years and it continues to help me on the road. It looks like I have no makeup on and gives a flawless cover to my skin. I choose to use the Original over the Mate because my skin is already dry when traveling and I don’t want to make it worse. I also love that it has SPF in it and its easy to carry around without the fear of spilling it everywhere (granted you remember to tightly close the container). This makeup has so many shades that its easy to find the perfect one for your skin tone.
bareMinerals Blurring Buffer Foundation and Concealer Brush: This is one of their new brushes I tried for the first time on this trip. I bought it because I was looking for a small brush to travel with and their brushes are usually great for applying powder foundation. I love it so far!
Derma-e Firming Eye Lift: this is one of my new favorite skin care lines and I’ve been using their eye cream for a couple months now.Two Faced, Better Than Sex Mascara: I fell in love with their brush applicator a couple months back and just bought my second tube of it before my trip to Europe. It gives great length and volume without it being clumpy. The best part is, they have a travel size!!
GrandeLash Eye Lash Serum: I have talked about this serum for sometime now. I have used it for years and most of my friends are using it now. Its a great alternative to eyelash extensions and fake eyelashes. It helps promote longer eyelashes once you use it everyday for over a month. This goes with me everywhere! I get so many emails on what I use on my eyelashes…this is it 🙂
Dior Addict Lipstick, Fashion Night 881: I like this lipstick because it is moisturizing and allows you to control how much color you apply. I can lightly apply a coat and have it be a bit translucent or be a little more heavy handed and have a bolder color. It feels like a chapstick but looks like a lipstick. I also like that you can wear it day and night and not look overly made up. The color is a berry red which one of my favorite shades for fall going into winter. I also think berry colors look great on every skin color if you’re like me and like to share you lipstick finds with your closest friends. My friend Sara that’s been traveling with me has used it and she is a very fair skin tone with freckles and it looks fabulous on her as well!
- Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Color, Lush Nectarine: this is my favorite travel size cheek color of all time. It’s perfect for a purse or a travel kit. It’s also very pigmented so a little goes a long way so it will last you a while.
- I Provenzalin Chapstick: I have a few favorites, but the one shown is the one I picked up in a Florence grocery store. It’s all natural and plant based and seems to last a long time. It’s a brand that is social conscious and is mainly plant based. I would recommend this for guys and girls. Its very moisturizing and last a long time.
- Eyelash Curler: I am not very picky with these but the one shown I picked up from Sephora before I left and its shaped for almond eyes.
