Electric Toothbrush, Is it Worth it?

Smiling and laughing are so important to having fun in life, and being confident in your smile plays a big role in how often we do those things. Because of this, I never miss a dentist appointment. A couple of years ago my dentist said my normal toothbrush just wasn’t cutting it. It wasn’t cleaning and reaching my gums to really be able to keep them healthy between visits to the dentist. She suggested an electric toothbrush, which I never invested in before because I wasn’t sure if it was worth it. She assured me that it was worth the money, and was very important to keeping my mouth as healthy as it should be.

An electric toothbrush is far more powerful than a manual one. Electric toothbrushes remove the plaque, tartar and food buildup that a regular toothbrush simply can not reach. This helps fight gingivitis and other forms of gum disease caused by buildup.Without knowing it, many people brush their teeth too aggressively with a standard toothbrush. They may think that more pressure is better, but it can actually lead to gum recession and enamel erosion. An electric toothbrush, on the other hand, provides the perfect amount of pressure, and you don’t even need to think about it. During a long, busy day, the last thing you want to worry about is bad breath. An electric toothbrush removes the plaque and food buildup that causes bad breath easily and efficiently. That way, you can go through your day feeling confident in your smile.

When I am running late in the morning, I know that I rush through my routine. Many of us are guilty of not brushing for the full 2 minutes that dentist’s recommend. However, many electric toothbrushes have timers telling you when to change the section you are on, and when you are done brushing entirely. We all have two minutes to spend on our smiles! An electric toothbrush makes your teeth healthier overall, and can give you confidence when walking into that dentist’s office.
