My pilates program

I wanted to talk about pilates for a bit because lately I’ve been on this workout kick to lean out and still build muscle. Pilates is great for building a strong and lean body while still enjoying your favorite meals in moderation.

I drive to Malibu to work out with Diana at Malibu Beach Pilates because she’s absolutely amazing. She caters to everyone’s individual needs while still focusing on your form and talking through your overall fitness plan. She’s so knowledgable and on top of being a kick-ass pilates instructor she is a health coach in the Gyrotonic Method and a yoga teacher! So it’s a one-stop shop for me 🙂

In doing a little reaserch at, I found out “the Gyrotonic method is an original, and unique movement method that enables simultaneous lengthening and strengthening of muscles, stimulates circulation, and enhances joint mobility, and coordination.  Gyrotonic exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements, which flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions, with corresponding breathing patterns. With Gyrotonic exercises, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. There are so many benefits to pilates, and I highly recommend you guys give it a try. Honestly, anyone can do it! No age restriction, any weight class, pregnancy-friendly, it can be done everyday because it doesn’t involve much wear and tear on your muscles, it helps teach you how breath work can actually help boost your energy level and obviously improves your flexibility in case you want to because a circus performer. I’m just joking about that last part, I just wanted to see if my blog post didn’t put you to sleep :p

There are so many great ways to get your daily exercise routine in, and pilates is a great low impact way to do it. Now go out there and enjoy the remaining summer months!
