Hey everyone!
As some of you might know, I sent this tip out to the people that subscribed to my blog and people loved it so much that I decided to share it with everyone. If you find this useful and want to get emails such as these with tips for beauty, cooking and life in general, don’t forget to sign up!
That tool is STEAM—and it’s astonishing how much a little hot water vapor can do for your appearance.
Steaming opens up your pores and forces deep-set dirt and toxins out, while letting oxygen in.
Plus, it softens expression lines, locks in moisture, and increases blood circulation for a brilliant, healthy glow.
And recently, I learned about a particularly powerful steam treatment that you can do at home, without any costly gadgets or hard-to-find ingredients.
Believe it or not, it was actually one of my high-profile friends that shared this great tip—after I asked how she manages to look at least 20 years younger than she really is, without any cosmetic surgery.
According to my superstar source, this quick at-home beauty technique can instantly:
Tighten your complexion
Give loose, sagging skin a visibly more lifted appearance
Improve your skin’s elasticity
Infuse dry skin with a powerful surge of moisture
Give your whole face a lustrous, long-lasting glow
…ON TOP of draining your pores of impurities and giving your skin a professional-grade deep cleaning.
And when an A-lister says that she genuinely prefers this DIY facial over expensive spa treatments, I make sure to take notes…and give you the details!
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 large cooking pot
1 full-size bath towel
8 drops of Geranium essential oil
2 Green Tea bags
10-15 rose petals OR 5 drops of rose oil extract
And here’s how it’s done:
Step 1 – Fill your pot 3/4 of the way with cold water…
Drop in teabags, Geranium oil, and rose petals (or rose extract)…
Then bring contents to a boil.
Step 2 – Carefully move the pot to a place where you can comfortably position your face about 10 inches above it.
I would recommend placing the pot on a table or countertop (with a placemat or cutting board underneath it) and pulling up a high stool to sit on.
Then, set a timer for 15 minutes.
Step 3 – Once you’re seated, throw the towel over you head and secure it so that as little steam as possible can escape while still allowing yourself enough air to breathe comfortably.
Start the timer.
Step 4 – Breathe deeply and relax until the timer goes off. Enjoy these 15 minutes of peace!
Step 5 – After completing your steam, rinse with cold water.
Then quickly run an ice cube over your face and neck. This will close your pores back up (dramatically minimizing their appearance and preventing new dirt and oil from getting in)…
…and instantly make your skin feel much tighter.
Step 6 – Apply your serum and moisturizer as usual.
Note: Your skin will absorb the products faster and penetrate more deeply than you’re used to, so don’t be alarmed if you feel a gentle tingling sensation (that’s just the active ingredients working at maximum efficiency).
Step 7 – Show off your immaculate new complexion and youthful radiance!
I’d also like to point out that face steaming works wonders for congestion and sinus pressure…
Simply add a few Eucalyptus leaves (or drops of Eucalyptus oil) to your pot for a steaming session that will make you look younger and feel healthier, too.
I hope some of you will do this and send me an email, write me a comment or make me a video with your results 🙂
As always report back in the comment section below and tell me your thoughts!
